Adult support co-ordinator Adult and Autism Team

Why would you wish to be an adult support co-ordinator with the Adult and Autism team? A current adult support co-ordinator explains.

‘The Adult and Autism team is a close knit, supportive team, with ample opportunities to share knowledge and learn from others. It provides a great start to a career in social care. You have the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals with a variety of life experiences. No two days are the same!’

We are a team of committed social care professionals working with those aged 18plus with Autism or other needs that do not fall under the remit of other statutory teams. We also offer support to those moving into adult services from Children’s social care. We provide a supportive team, with regular supervision and a concentration on further training and learning opportunities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic worker who can embrace. Working under the Care Act 2014 to complete assessments and care and support planning, the basis of all our work is to support people to no longer need us! As such we focus on preventative strategies and upskilling, looking to support choice, control and positive risk taking.

Experience of working with those with Autism or that are excluded by society for other reasons would be an advantage.

The role is based at Amundsen House, St Ives, but covers the county of Cambridgeshire. Cambridgeshire County Council offers a wide range of benefits including a lease car option, mileage allowance, a generous annual leave entitlement as well as membership of the Local Government Pension scheme.

If you are interested and would like further details please contact Kate Wood on 01480 372356.

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11th November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
