Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are delighted to share that we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and creative Agency Advisor to join the Regional Adoption Agency.

As part of the government changes to improve the adoption process they have asked local authorities and Voluntary Adoption Agencies working in the same areas to join together to form Regional Adoption Agencies (RAA). The Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) which is a joint venture between Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council, brings together the very best talent, experience and energy to increase the number of adopters across the county and give children loving & stable families.

We have a permanent, full time vacancy based in Huntingdon and Peterborough but will be working across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The role is varied with a primary role to oversee and ensure efficient and effective running of Adoption and Permanence Panel for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Regional Adoption Agency. Alongside this the role takes a lead around developing and implementing the practice standards for the agency and will support their team manager colleagues in the implementation. The Agency Advisor sits within the management team of the Regional Adoption Agency and will play a vital role around performance monitoring and reporting for the Regional Adoption Agency

You must be an experienced and qualified social worker with current SWE registration. We are a countywide service and willingness to travelling across both local authorities is essential.

We would welcome applications from a diverse range of workers who are willing to work flexibly to enhance our existing workforce.
Our social workers throw their heart and soul into transforming the lives of young people and their families. They genuinely love the challenge that every day brings.

And we love them for it. But we aren’t what you might think a typical local government organisation looks like. We understand the work you do on a daily basis and we provide the support you need to make a difference to children throughout Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

You could benefit from a relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme, flexible working, and excellent training and career progression.

If you like the sound of moving to an authority where social workers are truly valued, get in touch with us today by calling Joanne on 07442 046221 or emailing joanne.banks@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and to share this commitment.
