Can you help data make a difference?

Are you ambitious, innovative, good with data and passionate about good quality public services? If so, we may have the role you’ve been searching for!

We’re looking to recruit an Analyst (Business Intelligence) to join our team at Cambridgeshire County Council to support our Adults & Safeguarding directorate with a range of data and analytical products. This is a fixed term position for up to 12 months.

If you have strong technical skills, enjoy extracting and exploring data and have proven analytical and presentation skills then we want to hear from you!

Council services are big business. The Business Intelligence Service provides data, analysis, and insight to support the operational management and strategic planning of services. With budgets of millions of pounds that impact on thousands of vulnerable people every year, services rely upon the information and advice they receive from our team – so you’ll really have a chance to make a difference.

So why choose us? We offer a variety of benefits such as:
• Occupational pension scheme with employer contribution
• Generous annual leave provision
• Option to buy extra holiday
• Comprehensive employee discounts scheme
• Employee Assistance Programme – access to free support 24 hours a day
• Lease car scheme
• Payment for business mileage expenses
• Salary based charitable giving scheme
• Work life balance and flexible ways of working
• Employee recognition reward – win shopping vouchers and extra holiday
• Cycle to Work scheme – tax saving to buy a bike
• Opportunities for learning and development up to degree level

As a service we have been home working since the start of the pandemic, and we expect remote working to be a key feature of this role once offices re-open again. Our technology platform and equipment enable remote working and support flexible working patterns. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.

Still not sold? As well as a job description, we’ve also included some additional information about what a ‘typical’ day in the team looks like within this advert.

For an informal conversation about this role, please contact Andy Mailer, Business Intelligence Manager, on 07876 743964 or andrew.mailer@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

Interviews will be conducted virtually on the 28th and 28th September. Candidates will need access to a PC / Laptop with excel installed (preferably 2016) and a webcam to support video interviews.
