Do you have a passion for GIS and property records and using them to help the County Council get the best out of its property assets?

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for an asset records manager who will keep the Council’s asset records up to date and available.

This will mean working with different software packages to produce MapInfo plans, CAD drawings, paper records and a newly procured property asset management database. You will be involved, with others, in procuring, implementing, populating, and maintaining a new database, ensuring it works efficiently and will become the expert in using it to support property asset management. This information is used for reporting, landlord and tenant issues, capturing critical event dates, creating leases, selling sites, portfolio valuations, construction and maintenance and establishing future property strategy.

The Council property portfolio, valued at almost £1 bn, contains over 1000 property assets from both Rural and Commercial/Urban portfolio. The focus of the portfolio is to deliver a diverse range of first-class services for the people of Cambridgeshire, aligning the Council’s property assets with the strategic aims and objectives of the Council, as well as generating income. This can only be done with accurate records.

You will work as part of a property team and with other service users, such as education. You will need to be able to build strong and productive working relationships, facilitating and influencing to achieve the best outcomes. The role will involve managing others.

You should have degree level education which might involve GIS/CAD/database management using this in a property setting. Have relevant experience working with property management systems, being able to interpret plans, identify boundaries, prepare accurate floor and Land Registry compliant property plans.

The successful candidate can expect a salary in the region of £35,000, for someone of the right experience, with annual performance reviews. You will benefit from generous annual holidays, an excellent pension scheme, assistance with cost of relocation of up to £4,000 (subject to qualifying criteria), family friendly policies and plenty of opportunities for training and career progression. The role will offer the flexibility to have a balance between home working and our offices in Alconbury.
