We are looking for an Autism support manager to work within the Autism and Adult Team for 28hrshrs/week on a permanent basis. The Autism support manager role focuses on those with Autism, and no associated learning disability, aged 18-75. We also offer support to those moving into adult services from Children’s social care, who have Autism. We provide a supportive team, with regular supervision and a concentration on further training and learning opportunities.

The basis of all the Autism support manager’s work is to support people to no longer need them! As such the role focuses on time limited, preventative work and upskilling, looking to support choice, control and positive risk taking.

Experience of working with those with Autism is essential including a working knowledge of the Autism Act 2009 and Equality Act 2010. A willingness to share your knowledge and skills with others, both those in the team and within wider organisation, will be helpful. Knowledge of wider resources and services is also required.

The role is based at Amundsen House, St Ives, but covers the county of Cambridgeshire. Cambridgeshire County Council offers a wide range of benefits including a lease car option, mileage allowance, a generous annual leave entitlement as well as membership of the Local Government Pension scheme.

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11th November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.
