Business Administrator Apprentice (Pensions Clerk)

This Business Administrator Apprentice is an Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3).
On completion of this Apprenticeships (18-24months) there is the potential opportunity of a permanent Pensions Clerk role.

This position will be majority office based with the potential option to work from home occasionally depending on the Business need.

The first year salary will be £13,573.70
From the second year the salary will be £19,391

West Northamptonshire Pension Service administer the Local Government Pension Scheme for more than 140,000 scheme members across Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.

The Pensions Service administration includes processing starters, leavers, retirements, death benefits and record maintenance. This is achieved whilst meeting the legislative requirements and critical deadlines across the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The role of Pensions Clerk will work within the Administration team along side 3 other Pension Clerk’s, 2 Pension Officers and 1 Team Leader.

The role of a Pensions Clerk is to provide support to the other pension staff and to provide financial information to existing and previous members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The Pension Clerk will be responsible for:

• Scanning and allocating of the post to the relevant areas within the Pensions Service
• Deliver efficient and excellent customer service by responding to general enquires via post, email and telephone calls
• Accurate and confidential data input such as; setting up pensionable records, updating members personal details, updating employment changes
• Processing refund of contributions
• Assist in maintaining supplies to facilitate the smooth running of the office
• Undertake clerical and administrative tasks to support the service as required
