We currently have a permanent, 37-hour Business Officer post available, working for the South Family Safeguarding team within Children’s Services.

This post will be based in Shire Hall, Cambridge. However, there may be a need to travel to other locations within Cambridgeshire for training and meetings. Please also note that this team will be relocating to a new base in Trumpington, Cambridge late 2021.

You will need a good working knowledge of all Windows & Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet) and experience of using client databases. You should be self-motivated, flexible and have excellent organisational skills alongside the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise and forward plan. The role will require you to provide high quality administrative support to the wider team including arranging meetings, processing financial transactions and minute taking.

You will work as part of a busy team so must possess good interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and be able to work to tight deadlines. You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

Liaising with colleagues, professionals, and members of the public over the phone, via email and face-to-face is an integral part of this role, therefore excellent communication skills are essential alongside an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within the Local Authority and develop knowledge and understanding of Children's Services.
