We are looking to appoint full time and part time Business Officers, to provide support to the Statutory Assessment Team, based at Scott House in Huntingdon.

The successful candidates must have a good working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience of using databases. The role also involves inputting data into computer systems, dealing with both computer and paper-based documents, answering the telephone and taking messages, supporting colleagues with tasks such as collating data and producing reports, updating legal documents and coordinating key meetings with a variety of internal and external attendees.

To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible, with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise and forward plan. You will have excellent interpersonal skills combined with the ability to represent the service in a positive and professional manner, including communicating with a wide range of internal and external customers.

You must be reliable, have a polite manner and a friendly approach to help you get on with people at all levels. You must be keen to learn and work to agreed targets. You will need to be a good team worker but also have the ability to work on your own initiative when required and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to take a hands-on role and work independently.
The role involves liaising with colleagues, professionals and members of the public over the phone, by email and, on occasion, face-to-face, so excellent communication skills are essential. An understanding of confidentiality and data protection is imperative.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within the Local Authority and develop knowledge and understanding of SEND Services.

We offer:
• A competitive salary
• Excellent index-linked, defined benefit pension scheme including life assurance benefits
• Occupational sick; maternity/paternity and shared parental leave schemes
• Generous annual leave entitlement increasing with length of service and the ability to buy additional days
• Training and development

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, the organisation and our communities

(N.B. Due to COVID-19, whilst the position is based at Scott House you may initially be working at home. When it is necessary to attend the office, strict social distancing guidelines will be adhered to. Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams)
