As part of a new community development, we have an exciting opportunity for a Centre Assistant to join the team at the Storey’s Field Centre in North West Cambridge. The Centre Assistant will assist the Centre Manager and the rest of the team with the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the centre.

The Storey’s Field Centre is a prestigious new centre off Huntingdon Road on the North West Cambridge development. It will serve the residents of the new development as well as the surrounding communities in the City and South Cambridgeshire area. The centre is overseen by the Storey’s Field Trust and is managed on behalf of the Trust by Cambridge City Council.

This role is focused on the delivery of a range of community events, with duties including; setting up for events, clearing the centre after events, stewarding, covering the reception area, bar work, manual handling, ad hoc cleaning and other front of house duties.

With a good level of customer service skill including a friendly, welcoming approach, you will be dealing with enquiries from members of the public. You’ll join us with previous experience of working on events and any experience of working within a community centre or similar environment would be highly desirable. You will be able to work using your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.

This role is available on an annualised hours contract, initially working 300 hours per year. There may be an opportunity for additional hours depending on the bookings made at the centre. As part of this role, you will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
