North Northamptonshire Registration Service wants to hear from you.

The Registration Service has the statutory duty to register all life events that happened in the county (births and deaths) and to conduct and register all civil marriages and civil partnerships that occur in the North Northamptonshire. We offer many other services such as Citizenship ceremonies, copy certificate production, and celebratory ceremonies such as Naming or Renewal of Vows.

The service operates from a variety of council buildings across the county and conducts ceremonies at approximately 30 approved venues.

The service now seeks a Ceremony Operations and Development Manager who will lead on these critical areas for the service:

1) To lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of administrators and ceremony officers and their associated work processes to:

a. Deliver the Service’s activities accurately, efficiently and legally.

b. Ensure service is consistent with performance, statutory and customer service standards.

c. Continually seek to improve the customer service experience for customers, from ceremony booking, to ceremony day. Seek to explore lean process to enhance/ streamline the experience.

d. Seek opportunities to grow ceremony side of the service with staffing and developing a marketing strategy to increase approved venues.

e. Aim to become the Ceremony provider of choice.


You will be educated to graduate level standard, preferably with project management experience, "Lean" thinking or other process management experience and a preference for using information technology and data analysis to improve the customer experience and business processes.

The role requires a full driving licence and the use of own car as travel around the County will be required.

The initial base location for training will be One Angel Square based in Northampton. It is anticipated this place of work will be subject to change to an alternative location within North Northamptonshire during 2021/2022. The Council will give you reasonable advance notice.

In this employment your duties may require you to work at various places within the geographical area of Northamptonshire and its surrounding areas. It is anticipated your office base location will be Kettering.

The role will be contracted for 37 hours per week, spread across five working days which are Tuesday to Saturday (following training).
