The School Governance Team in Cambridgeshire are looking to appoint Clerks to Governors to support school governors and leaders in a range of schools and academies across Cambridgeshire.

The role of Clerk is to prepare for, attend and minute governors meetings, in addition to delivering a full administrative and advice service to Governing Bodies in schools across the area.

The role is well suited to someone looking for flexible work around existing commitments or a part time role, which offers full training, an induction programme and mentor, as well as ongoing development opportunities at termly briefing and networking sessions with other Clerks. Ideally, the successful applicants will bring experience of administration, being well organised and able to manage your own workload and deadlines.

We currently have vacancies in the following areas: Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire, Ely, Fenland and Huntingdon (including St Ives). These roles can have a range of weekly hours which can be discussed and confirmed at interview.

To discuss these opportunities further, please contact George Hayes (Strategic Lead for Governance: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough) via email to George.Hayes@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

Meetings are ordinarily late afternoon and evening, with the remainder of work undertaken from a home base.

Cambridgeshire County Council places the highest priority on safeguarding. A DBS check will therefore be required, prior to confirmation of any appointment. We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, the organisation and our communities.
