The Adult Social Care Commissioning Team is expanding and we are looking for a talented individual to join us.

We have a 2.5 year fixed term/secondment opportunity for a new Commissioner role. Based in the Long-Term Team, the post will work on several strategic priorities and innovative programmes including place-based commissioning, Direct Payments, Microenterprise development and the introduction of Independent Service Funds.

Working with a Commissioning Manager across a portfolio, the post will be responsible for:

• independently managing elements of commissioning activity and/or smaller projects,
• providing support to the Commissioning Manager on larger, complex projects within the portfolio
• recommending areas for innovation, improvement or collaboration within portfolio area to the Commissioning Manager
• Planning and delivery of engagement with providers, service users and other key stakeholders to develop market intelligence and inform the development of commissioning strategies
• Preparing and presenting a wide range of reports, strategies and influencing documents for both internal and external audiences
• Contributing to budgetary and business planning activities
• Undertaking contract management meetings to provide assurance of contract compliance and delivery of quality and value for money

The right candidate will have a range of transferable skills and experiences which include:

• Strategic, critical and solution focused thinking
• Project management skills
• Excellent communication skills

Plus, an understanding of public sector commissioning and awareness of how local care market dynamics impact upon the Council.

Based in Cambridgeshire, travel will be required across the county and supported by flexible and agile working practices.
