An exciting opportunity has arisen for a digital or web professional to join our organisation to support delivery of the council’s digital transformation, customer access and communications strategies. As Digital and Web Manager, you will lead and manage the development of the technical infrastructure and system integration for the council’s corporate website, intranet and other online services- working closely with strategic directors and heads of service to deliver more council services through online channels.

You will take advantage of technological change in order to maximise functionality, interactivity and flexibility for customers, specifically focusing on developing functionality, technical add-ins and the devolved content management model relating to the council’s website and intranet. Supporting managers of services across the council, you will help identify and exploit opportunities to digitise their services, advising them on procurement and development of systems to ensure integration with the main website, enhancing user experience for our residents, businesses and visitors.

Within the role, you will play a key part in the development of our web strategy and contribute to the development and delivery of our Digital Transformation Strategy. Utilising previous experience, you will be required to develop, implement and keep under review policies, procedures and governance arrangements for the council’s website and intranet, including close consultation with our 3C Shared ICT service ensuring information security and data protection principles are maintained to the highest standards.

With relevant experience of leading on major projects and website management in a digital/website context, you will also hold a related qualification or equivalent experience. You will have excellent customer communication and influencing skills, including liaison with senior colleagues, to allow you to deliver outcomes to the required deadlines. You will have a good level of initiative, with technical web skills (such as: HTML, CSS and Photoshop) and experience of managing staff, external providers and liaising with people both from an ICT and non-ICT background.
