We have an exciting, permanent, opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals, who enjoy working with people and supporting at risk service users to make a real difference to people’s lives. You will manage your own cases and provide advice and assistance to service users (or their representatives) to complete a financial assessment form in relation to their care needs to determine any contribution they may need to make. You will also provide advice to service users on general welfare benefit matters: helping to maximise service user’s income by identifying potential welfare benefit entitlement.

You will need:

- To be articulate and able to communicate in a clear manner both verbally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in particular with at risk adults and their carers, in order to achieve desired outcomes.

- To have proven experience of delivering excellent customer service with an ability to work effectively both as an individual, and as part of a team

- High level of numeracy and literacy skills and experience of working in a job requiring accurate figure work

- To have strong time management and organisational skills. An ability to handle multiple tasks while working to deadlines and maintaining a high degree of accuracy and organisation is essential

- The ability to travel to visit service users in their home as required (please note travel and visits to service users is currently not required due to the COVID-19 epidemic. This will recommence in the future subject to Government guidelines and the Local Authorities COVID-19 critical response plan)

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy environment with a high level of service user and carer contact, and to develop skills in an interesting field. Full training and support will be provided (please note that currently training is taking place both virtually and in an office environment when it is not possible to conduct remotely).
