Grafham Water Centre is a popular Outdoor Education Centre based on the shores of Grafham Water reservoir in Perry, Cambridgeshire. We are a lively and busy residential centre catering for a wide range of school and youth groups as well as offering courses for both adults and children. We also cater for corporate and conference bookings. At the heart of all our work is our vision to change young people’s lives.


Our Chefs are vital in providing high quality and nutritious meals for our users and staff that will fuel them up for their active days. The Chefs will work closely with the Chef Manager to supervise the work of the catering team to ensure the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness and hygiene.

• 37 hours per week.
• Some early, evening and weekend work on a shift rota basis. A typical shift is 06.30-14.30 or 11.30 – 19.30. Generally, no split shifts.
• Salary £18,070 - £20,138 (hourly rate £9.37 - £10.44).
• 31 days paid annual leave per annum (including time in lieu for Public Holidays), increasing with service.

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who is committed to delivering the best service to our customers and staff – a smile and a sense of humour is a must! We will be looking for the following in our ideal candidate:

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be given)
• Minimum Level 1 Cooking/Catering qualification e.g. NVQ 1 or City and Guilds 706/1
• Experience in a Chef/Cooking role
• Excellent customer service skills
• A sound understanding of health, safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to plan, organise and supervise work of self and others
