The Council is focused on the prevention of homelessness, and your role will be to work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to provide innovative solutions for vulnerable people who find themselves homeless. You will offer support, advice and guidance, mediate with landlords and families, liaising with private and public sector landlords and landlords’ representatives, establishing services for people with special needs and advising people of all the housing options which are available.

With previous experience of providing budgeting and money advice, you will be confident in dealing with the Courts, landlords, bailiffs and mortgage lenders and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of homelessness legislation and case law. You will need strong organisational and communication skills and be willing to assist with the out of hours emergency advice service.

The ideal candidate should hold a CIH Level 4 qualification or be willing to work towards gaining the qualification.
