Corporate Parenting is a conscientious parent. This was one of the many positive attributes given to the service in the recent Peterborough focused OFSTED visit.
We ‘think stability’ for our children in care and care leavers as we know this gives them the best possible start in life.

An exciting role has become available within the service offering a more dedicated approach to children in care and predominately care leavers.
The successful candidate will be leading and managing 4 leaving care teams across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire as part of our realigned service delivery model.

The post holder will be attuned to the national, regional and local developments for care leavers, be aspirational for them whilst being knowledgeable about such issues as contextual safeguarding, exploitation, and practice in this dedicated area.

The successful post holder will report to the Head of Service, Corporate Parenting.

The post holder should have experience of successful inspections, both internal and external, a proven track record in improving outcomes for care leavers along with a passion for this group of young adults.

The successful post holder will be responsible for

• 4 leaving care teams which have a blended model of service delivery which includes children in care as well as care leavers,
• Be responsible for improving partnership arrangements with key partners, both internally and externally including the third sector.
• Ensure improved performance in key areas such as NEET and homelessness are addressed to the betterment of care leavers.
• Ensure the local offer is fair, and transparent.
• Ensure the diversity of children in care and care leavers is embraced and valued.
• Manage and ensure that all services are planned and delivered in a cost-effective, integrated way that meets policy and quality requirements.
• Listen to the feedback from care leavers, promote a quality driven service based upon active listening to them, and other key stakeholders to continually drive improvements.

Our plan is to be the best we can be for our care leaver population.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The closing date for applications is Friday the 01st of October at midnight. Interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing 11th October at Sand Martin House, Peterborough.
