Service area: Learning & Development for Adults, Communities and Wellbeing

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Adult, Community and Wellbeing team as a Learning and Development Advisor. This is a fixed term part time post or secondment for 12 months.
The role of the Learning and Development Advisor is to support with the coordination and the development and delivery of learning and development programmes that supports the Northamptonshire Adults Social care teams, Communities and Wellbeing teams for both the North Northants Council and The West Northants Council.
We are looking for either a qualified social worker or professional with a strong working knowledge and / or experience of Adult Social Care and Adult Social Work. Also, an excellent understanding of how to deliver training and / or other learning and development activities and how to embed into social work practice.
Have confident training delivery skills to front line staff and their teams is essential across a range of areas for Adult social work / care teams. For example a working knowledge of some of these subjects are:
• Safeguarding Adults
• Care Act 2014
• Professional Curiosity
• Positive Risk Management
• Strength Based Approaches in Adult Social Care
• Mental Health, Domestic Abuse and Substance Misuse

Is up to date with anticipated legal changes to practice and will need to coordinate new programmes of training across the workforce to ensure that practice by staff is safe, legal and sustainable.
The role includes supporting and developing best practice solutions using in-house and external capability that supports the common programme and specialist areas, such as social care or new ways of working. To also ensure a quality service is delivered to customers, North Northants Council and West Northants Council policies and values are complied with and reporting deadlines are met.
In return you will receive regular supervision and learning and development activities to support with your own Continuous professional development.
