Cambridgeshire Library Service has a reputation for innovation, and with 4 new libraries planned for the next few years - the first opening in 2017 - you could play a crucial role in these developments.

Based in the world renowned city of Cambridge, this rôle is the professional and functional lead for an innovative and inspiring county library service. It requires an experienced and capable leader, with expert knowledge of the sector, and the ability to shape the delivery of library services as part of a network of multi-agency community hubs.

You will be responsible for the effective management of strategic change projects, operational delivery, and strengthening partnership working. You will be expected to maintain and improve the performance of front-line services and enhance the customer experience using the latest technologies and digital interfaces.

Resilient, flexible and adaptable, a leader of change, with an ability to build capacity by working across teams and organisations, you will make the most of volunteers and encourage a community-led approach. With a track record of success in generating income, you will also have experience of capitalising on commissioning and/or sponsorship opportunities.

An excellent communicator, you will be able to advocate at all levels and work successfully with internal and external partners, in order to deliver the best possible outcomes whilst maximising the use of resources.

A qualification in librarianship or significant equivalent knowledge and experience, is required for this role.
