Our Service

Children’s Services at Northamptonshire are in an exciting period of significant transformation; we can confirm that we will become a Children’s Trust which will deliver services for two new unitary authorities across the county. We are currently recruiting energetic and passionate social workers to lead and develop high quality services.

There is a service improvement plan to ensure that children get the right service at the right time through an integrated approach from early help and social care MASH. Signs of safety strengths based approaches led by our principal social worker supports excellent social work practice and is further supported by our Signs of Safety Champions and business support.

There is an exciting opportunity to join our MASH Team.

This is a very fast paced and busy role which will require you to have commitment and drive to be successful in this position within a service that strives to deliver positive outcomes for our children and families in collaboration with our external partners.

The creation of a new role with specific decision making focus, effective management and support is expected to continue the improvement in practice and create a service structure that attracts workers to the MASH and retains permanent employees.

You will be part of a team of 3 Decision Makers/Senior Social Workers with 4 MASH Officers who are responsible for referral information and making informed decisions in respect of safety of children within 24 hours of the referral. You will work collaboratively with our MASH partners and the child’s voice will be evident through your work. You will be a qualified Social Worker, with Social Work England registration, and have previous experience of working on a ‘Front Door’ service.

Enhanced DBS clearance and Social Work England registration required. Some posts in MASH and First Response (s47) teams are based in the Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) and are therefore subject to annual vetting by Northamptonshire Police. This clearance is required to undertake the role.
