Are you looking for a role where you can develop your knowledge and skills in safeguarding adults?

We’re looking for a MASH Safeguarding Lead Practitioner to join us, on a 12-month contract, in our Adult Social Care Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), a service which provides a safeguarding triage function for adults in our community, working closely with partner agencies to provide the highest quality of response to adults at risk.

As a Safeguarding Lead Practitioner, you will be responsible for triaging concerns based on the level of risk, holding a caseload of Section 42 enquiries, and provide a response which is preventative by signposting to relevant organisation, or conduct enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act.

We are a small team with experiences and supportive staff, who encourage each other to develop their skills. We are committed to making safeguarding personal, which involves engaging with the adult at risk (or their advocate) to agree a plan that follows the six key principles of safeguarding.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a registered Social Worker and have completed their ASYE
• Have a willingness to develop an in-depth knowledge of the Care Act and be able to apply it in practice
• A desire to develop advanced communication skills both written and verbal
• Demonstrate an understanding of risk management
• Have an understanding of Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
• Demonstrate a commitment to learning and development

We currently have a vacancy for a 12-month secondment or a fixed term contract and both full time and part time applicant will be considered.

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail please contact Julie Rivett, Adult MASH Manager on 01354 750111 (

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation, and the communities we serve.
