The Markets Team is looking to appoint a Markets Assistant to assist with the operation of our markets in Huntingdon and St Ives.

The successful candidate will assist undertake a variety of tasks relating to the Councils Market service to ensure successful and safe day to day operation of the markets acting as a representative of the Council and as a primary on-site point of contact for both market traders and members of the public.

The position is a challenging one and requires someone who can work individually and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills in both verbal and written communications with experience of working within a retail/frontline customer services environment with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

A flexible attitude to working hours is essential along with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. The post will work 37 Hours over 4 days including Saturdays and Bank Holidays.

In addition to the basic salary, this role attracts an enhancement for working on Saturdays & Bank Holidays. This enhancement is worth (subject to actual hours worked) approximately £2,250 per year.

This role will work out of Eastfield House in Huntingdon and be required to travel around market sites within the district. You will therefore require a driving licence in order to access each of the sites.
