Salary: £30,451 - £34,728 per annum (City Pay Band 5)

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Operative to help deliver the service provided by our Estates & Facilities team on behalf of the City Council.

With your primary trade being as a Carpenter, you will be responsible for carrying out all types of maintenance, repair and construction work specific to this skill to ensure the effective delivery of property repairs and maintenance. Works will be primarily associated with domestic properties, but will also include commercial or administrative property, both in City Council or private ownership.

You will be able to carry out a range of tasks in secondary trades as directed by your manager. With a flexible approach to your work, you will be happy to work alone or as part of a team in order to ensure that an efficient and financially viable Service is delivered.

You will have demonstrable experience and qualifications as a Carpenter and hold the relevant qualifications to deliver this role. Further intermediate trade skills outside your main trade are also essential.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of general building terms, regulations and health and safety. With effective communication and written skills, the ability to work to deadline and as part of a team, you will also have experience of dealing with the public and good customer care.

A full driving licence is essential for this role.
