We welcome Social Workers

Are you a qualified/newly qualified Social Worker (or near to qualifying) and passionate about working with people to promote independence and dedicated to making a difference? We would love to hear from you! We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic qualified and registered social workers to join our adult social care teams.
We also welcome interests from newly qualified social workers or those who are in the process of finishing the social work degree as we will also have spaces for candidates who will need to do their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.

North Northants Adult Social Care is on an exciting innovation journey working through the Three Conversation approach, a model that puts the emphasis on people, their strengths, and the networks through the development of community and Inclusion hubs.

We are looking for social workers who believe it is important to ensure people have choice and control over their own support needs. We want people who are committed, like us, to focus on the person, their strengths and networks, rather than routinely assessing people for services and eligibility. The three conversation model paves a new way of working in adult social care and we want social workers who are enthusiastic and passionate to work with us on this journey.

Post holders may work with any combination, or all, of the following care groups:
• Older people,
• People with physical, sensory, cognitive impairments,
• People with a learning disability and people with mental health problems.

Our current Social Worker vacancies sit within the following teams:
• Community Hubs
• Inclusion Hubs
• Care Home Review and Continuing Healthcare team
• Learning Disability Team
• Hospital Adult Social Care Team

If you have a burning preference for a specific team, please let us know in your application.

Basic Requirements:
• Have a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Have the passion to promote people’s strengths and the ability to make a difference in a safe working approach to social work practices
• Have up to date knowledge of legislation and demonstrable experience of delivering social care outcomes to people in need.
• Have good communication and IT skills
• Able to prioritise, using a risk based approach

We offer:
Our social care staff do all they can to make a difference to the local communities in North Northamptonshire, and they are a great asset to the organisation.

Some of the offer includes:
• Regular formal and informal support
• Safe, supportive and positive working environment
• Generous annual leave entitlement
• Access to an excellent Local Government Pension Scheme
• Staff discounts
• Robust supervision and training opportunities, enabling you to develop your skills and experience
• Opportunity and support to progress professionally and personally

Under the new Target Operating Model (TOM), that we have recently embedded, we have formal opportunities in place to discuss wellbeing, training, and team building in group settings through team huddles. These weekly sessions are led by individual teams focusing on workforce development and wellbeing.
We recognise that the application process can be time consuming and we want applicants to be supported to make the process as smooth as possible. If you would like to talk to someone about the role or application process, please email: ASCBusinessUnit@NorthNorthants.gov.uk with your query and we will arrange someone to contact you to discuss our opportunities further.

If you want to know more about the council, and working for Adult Social Care in North Northants, and would like to speak to a social worker or someone on their ASYE, we can try to arrange that so you will have the opportunity to hear directly from our excellent workforce.
