We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide a welcoming presence, ensuring the safety of all users across several parks and woodlands in Corby, and to encourage positive public engagement.

As the Parks and Woodland Ranger, your main responsibilities will include:

 Supported by the Woodland Manager; work alongside other staff in the Assets and Environment team to develop work programmes to deliver our site management plans
 To manage a team of volunteers and coordinate woodland work across Corby and potentially the wider North Northamptonshire area
 To undertake day to day volunteer engagement and conservation work as well as involvement in project delivery
 Ensure our sites are clean, safe and welcoming, helping us retain and obtain new Green Flag sites
 Help to build and maintain strong professional relationships with elected members, colleagues, contractors, volunteers and members of the public
 To ensure all work complies with NNC’s health and safety policies and procedures
 To be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences

To deliver this role successfully, you will need to;

 Have some practical experience of woodland/rural skills
 Have evidence of good people management and leadership
 Have excellent communication skills including public presentation
 Have strong organisational skills including work programming
 Have a proven track record of managing and leading on health and safety and environmental compliance
 Have a full UK Driving licence
 Be able to work with contractors

This role requires a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with good experience in woodland management and volunteer management. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field or a comparable level of experience.
