We are looking for an experienced team leader with a good finance background to play a key role in managing the Accounts Payable function.

This is a job share opportunity with the current Payables Team Leader who has recently reduced their working week. The role is for 22 hours per week over 3 days, ideally these days would be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday although alternative arrangements would be considered. This is part of a job share role.

The post holder will manage the day to day allocation of work to team members, providing guidance and support where required. You will liaise with suppliers and internal customers on a daily basis to resolve a range of accounts payable queries so excellent communication skills are essential.

You will ensure the Council is compliant with the rules of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) including submitting the monthly return so experience in this area is desirable. You will also undertake reconciliations and analyse data for reporting purposes so strong excel and numeracy skills are essential.

This is a demanding but fulfilling role suited to someone with excellent organisational skills and proven experience as an effective team leader.
