Children’s Services at Northamptonshire are in an exciting period of significant transformation; we can confirm that we will become a standalone Trust which will deliver services for two new unitary authorities across the county. We are currently recruiting energetic and passionate managers to lead and develop high quality services.

The Children in Care Service are looking to recruit an experienced individual with relevant management experience in this field or similar. An interest/ experience in emotional health and wellbeing would be welcomed. The successful applicant will be required to support the Team Manager on day to day operational issues and may on occasions be required to deputise in their absence.

This is a large and busy team that works with unaccompanied asylum seeking children (under 18) and with families who have no recourse to public funds. In this role you will support, advise and guide social workers as well as family support workers. This will involve line management of the team, regular supervision to enhance performance and case management. Additionally, you will be required to carry out annual appraisals.

This is a very fast paced and busy role which will require you to have commitment and drive to be successful in this position within a service that strives to deliver positive outcomes for our children and families in collaboration with our colleagues in the leaving care service and our external partners.

The applicant must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (degree/diploma), and be registered with Social Work England (previously known as HCPC)

You will need:
• Previous management/supervisory experience
• Knowledge and experience of immigration processes
• Social Work England Registration with previous post qualification experience in Social Work
• Previous experience within Children in Care
• Enhanced DBS Clearance
• The right to work in the UK


This position is full time and based at One Angel Square, Northampton
