Relief Library Assistant for Wisbech Library.

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and flexible person to help us shape the future of Cambridgeshire Libraries. We maintain a high quality public library service, working in partnership with a range of other organisations and community groups.

The successful candidate will have a flair for working with people and be able to create a friendly and welcoming environment for a diverse range of customers. You will be excellent at multi-tasking and be quick and efficient, with an ability to thrive within a busy and vibrant library service.

We need people who are passionate about what public libraries can offer and who are able to promote our services. Although there is plenty of routine work, there is also scope to be creative. Training will be given on specific library systems, but an ability to work with IT is assumed. Although library experience is an advantage, we would also like to hear from candidates who have demonstrated exceptional customer service and/or interpersonal skills in other contexts.

This is a zero hours post and is designed to cover on a relief basis at Wisbech Library.

We are proud of the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, our organisation and the communities that we serve.

Please note that library work is physically demanding; see the Job Hazards information for more details. We also strongly recommend that all applicants read the “Guidance on applying for a Job” document, which can be found by clicking on “General Information for Applicants” under “Further Information for this job”.

Applications must be made online, please note CV's are not accepted.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 10th November at Wisbech Library.
