Are you passionate about the role libraries can play in transforming the lives of children, young people and families? Are you keen to promote wellbeing in the community, including combating loneliness and social exclusion?

Here at Cambridgeshire Libraries, we have an exciting opportunity for a customer focussed Relief Community Library Assistant to join our small and friendly team to work in a flexible way across the five libraries of Bar Hill, Cottenham, Papworth, Histon and Willingham libraries. Being a car driver and having access to a vehicle is essential.

The successful candidate will be a friendly, enthusiastic team player, dedicated to providing an excellent level of customer service at all time including helping customers use online services or with other enquiries.

We are looking for someone who can provide the following:

• Excellent customer service to all visitors to Cambridgeshire Libraries
• Good communication skills and able to build positive and supportive relations with our customers, team and communities
• Are flexible in their approach to work location and able to multi-task
• Have a driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to other libraries
• Have good IT skills and able to support customers to use online services and with other enquiries
• Able to work alone in our single staffed libraries
• Physically fit as library work is demanding
