The reunification and placement stability service (RAPSS) are looking to recruit a Family Worker, based in the Fenland area. The post will involve working alongside our fostering service to provide intervention support to our foster carers in creative and innovative ways to support them and the young people in their care. The role will involve targeting support to achieve placement stability and utilise consistent and enduring relationships to maintain and sustain positive change, with some of our most vulnerable and traumatised young people.

The role will also include undertaking reunification assessments to consider if a young person can return home. The process will be underpinned by the NSPCC’s reunification framework and will require you to work with colleagues to undertake a multi-agency assessment and deliver interventions to children, young people and families with complex needs. We will focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for our young people with all permanence options being considered and explored.

The post will require you to be familiar with systemic approaches and its application; you will work directly with the fostering team, the children in care team and other specialist workers. You will work in partnership with young people and ensure that their voice, views and opinion are represented.

You will have the ability to assess, respond to and manage complex family dynamics and situations involving risk. You will be willing to challenge and address barriers where there is limited capacity to change and enable families to build on existing strengths whilst addressing presenting risks.

You will be motivated with excellent communication and written skills, committed to working as part of a team as well as good at liaising and forming good relationships with partner agencies. You will be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and willing to work occasional planned work on evenings and weekends. You will be required to have 2 A Levels or equivalent English and Maths GSCE at grade A-C. A qualification in a Social Care related subject and experience of working with children and families is essential.
