We are seeking a Senior Adaptations Technical Officer to join the Private Sector Housing team and play a key role in the delivery of our disabled adaptations service to private residents.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a disabled adaptations service for private sector residents in North Northamptonshire through the distribution of Disabled Facilities Grants in line with the Council's adopted Grants Policy, primarily across the Kettering and East Northamptonshire localities. You will be comfortable visiting clients in their own homes and discussing their adaptation needs with them in line with recommendations received from an Occupational Therapist. You will also have line management responsibility for two (trainee) Adaptations Technical Officer’s within the locality team.

With a minimum of two years experience of working in building surveying with a local authority housing department, housing association or other housing related field, you will also have experience of using AutoCAD. You will need up to date knowledge of building construction, health and safety, procurement processes, and building control procedures, with an ability to organise and prioritise your own workload. Experience of staff management and development is also required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at a time of change when you will also have an opportunity to help shape the future direction of our service and make real improvements to people’s lives.
