We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Huntingdon Family Safeguarding Team as a Senior Practitioner.

We pride ourselves on providing social workers with a friendly, safe and supportive environment to work in and are looking for enthusiastic and determined social workers from diverse backgrounds to enhance our existing team.

In February 2020, we launched our Family Safeguarding model. After almost a year with this new style of working, our district is already seeing many great benefits.

These include:
• A reduction in caseloads.
• An opportunity to work positively alongside Adult Practitioners sharing knowledge and resources to produce better outcomes for families.
• A reduction in the number of Children in Care.
• A reduction in Child Protection Plans.
• A productive case contribution from specialist workers (including victims of domestic abuse, individuals engaging in abusive relationship behaviours, alcohol and substance misuse specialists, and mental health support workers).
• Joint monthly discussions with all those working directly with families.
• An opportunity to undertake Motivational Interview Training.

Please access the attached document to read more about this exciting development.

Here in the Huntingdon Team we are dedicated to your personal and professional development. We have separated case and personal supervision as we believe that our Social Workers should be given dedicated time to focus on their own development, as well as their caseloads. We offer our Social Workers a variety of training packages that include Practice Educator programmes, Achieving Best Evidence programmes and PAMs.

Our other benefits include a competitive salary between £38,447 - £41,412, a relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement (28 days plus Bank Holidays), local government pension scheme and agile working.

But most importantly you will be part of a team that will have your back.

You must be a qualified social worker with current SWE registration and substantial post qualification experience. We are looking for committed enthusiastic workers that know good practice and have great mentoring and leadership skills.

Senior Practitioners will have a reduced caseload to ensure that they can support the Team Manager and the Team. They will also line manage staff within the team.

For many Social Workers, it is about making a difference. When you are in the Family Safeguarding Team, you really can.

Would you like to join our team and make a difference to the families that need it most? Get in touch with us today by emailing welovesocialworkers@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Applications are reviewed on a daily basis, please do not delay the submission of your application as this is a rolling advert and will be closed once a successful candidate has been found.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
