This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Public Health Research Officer in the Public Health team in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is creative, proactive and comfortable working across Local Government and the NHS organisations and on multiple projects, to ensure that robust evidence underpins the delivery of health and wellbeing outcomes across the local system.

You will be required to carry out detailed appraisal of the research evidence base for provision of health and social care services, to support the Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council Public Health Directorates in providing the mandatory healthcare public health advice to Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS). The job role is expected to evolve as the Integrated Care Board is established and is a unique opportunity to bridge Local Authority and NHS services.

The role has a strong focus on supporting the development of clinical prioritisation policies and pathways, and on supporting decision making processes for individual funding requests Clinical policies | Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (cambridgeshireandpeterboroughccg.nhs.uk).

If you have a background in public health, evidence-based medicine, critical appraisal or health economics you may be the right person to join us. You will need to be resilient and motivated, working with colleagues across the Council and the NHS, and will be able to build good relationships across many different sectors. You will be comfortable working with uncertainty, in a changing environment, especially as the evidence base, policy context and Integrated Care System evolves.
