Cambridgeshire County Council's Business Intelligence Service is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Research Team.

About the role: The Research Team delivers research and analysis for local public sector partners and the Council. Our Senior Analysts are responsible to the Research Team Manager and are expected to lead on significant areas of research work. We are seeking someone who has the skills to analyse, manipulate and combine different datasets, with the role being suited to someone with a track record in data analysis and generating insight from a variety of datasets. As a Senior Analyst you will provide information and insight for the Council and wider partners to help understanding of context, performance or impact and have a proven track record in being able to present findings to a wider range of audiences. You will have a good level of experience in previous analytical roles combined with excellent project management, report writing, communication and IT analytical skills.

This particular role is currently available on a permanent basis and will support our Skills and Economy work area, working with our employment and education data. Training and support will be given and successful applicants can expect to further develop knowledge and expertise in other work areas of public policy including Community Safety, Transport, Population Forecasting, Economic Recovery, and Project Evaluation.

About the Business Intelligence Service: We are an innovative service providing Business Intelligence to the County Council covering in-depth reporting on our children's and adult's social care services, education and highways. Our Research Team is outward facing, working together with a number of partner organizations to provide evidence to develop public policy. We do trade our research services within the public sector and have a number of contracts with our district councils, Combined Authority, Greater Cambridge Partnership and others; we host the region's economic forecasting model. This means we are pro-active and professional in our approach to our research work ensuring that it goes beyond the academic to have a real impact on public policy and on the provision of local services.

At present the team is home-working full-time and moving forward we expect this to continue together with some 'team days' being held in one of the County Council's local offices.
