The Disability Social Care 0-25 Service has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our team. The post will be based in our specialist Disabled Children’s Social Work Team, in Buttsgrove Centre, Huntingdon. This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a lively and dynamic team on a full time, permanent basis.

Joining our team will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of Disabled Children and Young People. It is a truly special team to work in as you will have the opportunity to build great relationships with the Children we visit. Nothing compares to the children greeting us with smiles and their faces lighting up, wanting to know when we will come and see and them next.

In the Huntingdon Disabled Children’s team, we are dedicated to supporting you. We have separated our case and personal supervisions so that we can focus on your development and progression. We also hold weekly wellbeing catch ups and case discussion huddles so that you can share concerns and experiences. We are a strong team who communicate well and support each other to put children at the centre of everything we do. We would love for you to join us and experience this for yourself.

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of relevant SEND legislation and policy, and knowledge of the factors that lead to improved outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You will be responsible for managing risk and supporting children and young people assessed as being children in need, at risk of significant harm or for whom the Local Authority is a Corporate Parent. You will also be able to demonstrate you have the ability to manage a complex caseload and achieve positive outcomes for the county’s most vulnerable residents.
