We have an exciting opportunity for Mental Health Social Workers to join our Team.

You will be a qualified social worker, who is able to respond to the needs of people with mental health problems in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines.

Our Adults and Older People's Mental Health Teams have exciting opportunities for Social Workers located in our Huntingdon and Fenland Team. This offers a chance to work in unique part of Cambridgeshire, with a diverse population and many opportunities and challenges.

Cambridgeshire County Council, through their Section 75 Agreement, provides mental health social work embedded in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT).

We are currently recruiting Social Workers to join us, primarily working with a caseload of working age adults or older people. There are Social Workers/AMHPs working across the multidisciplinary team which includes CPNs, Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Support Workers to promote the best outcomes for service users and carers.

Knowledge and experience of working with service users and their carers who experience mental health care and support needs would be key to this role, as would working with other agencies that provide voluntary services in the Cambridgeshire area. CPFT is the health trust providing assessment and treatment for mental health care and support needs.

We have Social Workers who are also Practice Educators, and we encourage Social Workers to take part in the training of new Social Workers through our links with Anglia Ruskin University for the Social work Degree, the MA in Social Work and also ASYE. Cambridgeshire County Council and CPFT offer training opportunities so that everyone can keep their knowledge and Social Work England registration up to date and improve their knowledge and skills generally and progress in their career.

If you have a flexible positive attitude, are passionate about promoting service users' independence and rights, and the role of the Social Worker, then this is the ideal role for you.

We are currently interviewing virtually using Microsoft Teams. This is a rolling campaign and candidates will be progressed shortly after they apply. The opportunity will be filled as soon as we identify a suitable candidate, which may be before the closing date. So please don't hesitate, we want to speak to you now!

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11th November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, the organisation and our communities.
