Amundsen House - St Ives
Closing date:

We are recruiting a Part-Time Social Worker to join our supportive team.

"The Adult and Autism team is a close knit, supportive team, with ample opportunities to share knowledge and learn from others. It provides a great start to a career in social care. You have the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals with a variety of life experiences. No two days are the same!" (Quote from actual team member)

We are committed social care professionals, working with those aged 18 plus with Autism or other needs that do not fall under the remit of other statutory teams. We also offer support to those moving into adult services from Children’s social care. We provide a supportive team, with regular supervision and a concentration on further training and learning opportunities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Worker who can embrace change. Working under the Care Act 2014 to complete assessments and care and support planning, the basis of all our work is to support people to no longer need us! As such we focus on preventative strategies and upskilling, looking to support choice, control and positive risk taking.

Experience of working with those with Autism or that are excluded by society for other reasons would be an advantage.

The role is based at Amundsen House, St Ives, but covers the county of Cambridgeshire. Cambridgeshire County Council offers a wide range of benefits including a lease car option, mileage allowance, a generous annual leave entitlement as well as membership of the Local Government Pension scheme

If you are interested and would like further details please contact Kate Wood on 01480 372356.

This is a rolling campaign and candidates will be progressed shortly after they apply. The opportunity will be filled as soon as we identify a suitable candidate, which may be before the closing date. So please don't hesitate, we want to speak to you now!

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11th November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, the organisation and our communities.
