The assessment teams are lively, fast paced and interesting. You will be joining a team who have a passion for ensuring that Children and Families in our area receive a positive and timely first experience from our service. The work is immensely rich, varies day-to-day and allows for a high level of multi-agency working often to tight timelines. The fast-paced nature of our work in the Assessment Team also means that you see positive outcomes for children and their families quickly. We are a small but highly supportive team and would love for a Social Worker with similar values to join us.

You will be supported by a permanent management team. This support includes weekly meetings as well as separated case discussions and personal supervision. We believe that our Social Workers should be given dedicated time to focus on their own development, as well as their caseloads. Our Assessment Team Social Workers are also supported by Children’s Information and Advice Officers, which makes administrative tasks much more manageable.

Our offices are situated in easily accessible locations, with great public and private transport links, especially from London and Peterborough. We also offer free parking. In response to COVID19, we are working to a hybrid model at present, with part-remote options available whilst still supporting colleagues in offices and our service users.

We have positions available in the following locations:
Fenland Team – Wisbech
South Cambs and Cambridge City Teams (PT post available) – currently based in Shire Hall, central Cambridge but shortly moving to refurbished premises in Trumpington.
Huntingdon Team (PT post available)

Our range of benefits, designed specifically for social workers, include a competitive salary between £34,408 - £37,108, retention scheme with increasing bonus’ over 3 three years, relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement (28 days plus Bank Holidays), local government pension scheme and agile working.

Flexible working opportunities available, including 9 day fortnights. An additional fuel allowance of £30 per month has been agreed for the 2022/23 financial year for employees driving over 300 business miles per month. We recognise the importance of reflection and learning, and allow all Social Workers 6 protected Continuous Professional Development (CPD) days per calendar year.
