Here in Cambridgeshire we are highly aspirational for our children in care and are committed to working systemically and thinking about children and their families. Our model of social work promotes a culture of support and collaborative working with a vast range of learning and development opportunities. Unique to Cambridgeshire, our model offers systemic trained family therapists whom provide a clinical lens to assessment, planning and evidence based interventions with children and their families.

“Honestly, it’s the best job in the world”.

That’s what we heard over and over from members of our social work team.

Our social workers throw their heart and soul into transforming the lives of young people and their families. They genuinely love the challenge that every day brings.

And we love them for it.

But we aren’t what you might think a typical local government organisation looks like. We understand the work you do on a daily basis and we provide the support you need to make a difference to children throughout Cambridgeshire.

You could benefit from a relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme, flexible working, and excellent training and career progression.

But most importantly you will be part of a team that will have your back.

As a social worker in the children in care team, you’ll be called upon to make decisions that will have a big impact on the health, safety wellbeing and long term outcome of children and young people. The needs of the child will be at the centre of everything you do, as you make choices based on achieving the best possible outcome in each individual child.

You must be a qualified social worker with current SWE registration and be passionate about ensuring that every child is supported to be able to reach their full potential. We are looking for enthusiastic and determined social workers from diverse backgrounds to enhance our existing workforce.

If you like the sound of moving to an authority where social workers are truly valued, get in touch with us today by calling Beth on 01223 475 920 or emailing welovesocialworkers@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Applications are reviewed on a daily basis, please do not delay the submission of your application as this is a rolling advert and will be closed once a successful candidate has been found.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
