The assessment teams are fast paced, lively and interesting. Perfectly suited to a Social Worker who is proactive and adaptable, and who has a passion for ensuring that Children and Families in our area receive a positive and timely first experience of our service. The work is immensely rich and varied day-to-day and allows for a high level of multi-agency working often to tight timelines.

“Honestly, it’s the best job in the world”.

That’s what we heard over and over from members of our social work team.

Our social workers throw their heart and soul into transforming the lives of young people and their families. They genuinely love the challenge that every day brings.

And we love them for it.

But we aren’t what you might think a typical local government organisation looks like. We understand the work you do on a daily basis and we provide the support you need to make a difference to children throughout Cambridgeshire.

This role will be based at Buttsgrove Centre, Huntingdon. Huntingdon is an easily accessible location with great transport links, is close to local amenities and comes with the benefit of free parking.

Here in the Huntingdon Assessment Team, we are dedicated to your personal and professional development. We have separated case and personal supervision as we believe that our Social Workers should be given dedicated time to focus on their own development, as well as their caseloads. We offer our Social Workers a variety of training packages that include Practice Educator programmes, Achieving Best Evidence programmes and PAMs.

Our other benefits include a competitive salary between £33,816 - £36,470, a relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement (28 days plus Bank Holidays), local government pension scheme and agile working.

But most importantly you will be part of a team that will have your back.

You must be a qualified social worker with current SWE registration and want to be part of a flagship for children’s service innovation. This is a great opportunity for you to work within a diverse and supportive team who will empower you to make important decisions and find creative solutions to
challenging situations.

If you like the sound of moving to an authority where social workers are truly valued, get in touch with us today by calling Beth on 01223 475 920 or emailing welovesocialworkers@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Applications are reviewed on a daily basis, please do not delay the submission of your application as this is a rolling advert and will be closed once a
successful candidate has been found.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
