What is Reablement?

Put simply, it is helping people re-learn how to do things that they have lost the ability or confidence to do.

The Reablement Service is a significant element of the social care system, allowing people who might otherwise be unable to go home to leave hospital.

Our reablement support workers help people regain their independence by motivating and inspiring them to re-learn tasks and activities that are fundamental to their quality of life.

What we can offer you:

Support workers are vital to the Reablement Service. You will allow people to leave hospital and return home, where – with your help – they can rebuild their confidence and begin to feel safe, happy again and prevent readmission.

Not only will you make a positive difference to people’s lives, but you will also have the pleasure of seeing that change first hand.

No previous experience is necessary – all we ask is that you have the right attitude and values.

In return, we will support you to gain a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, and offer:

• Variable hours and working patterns – operating over 7 days a week.

• Flexibly, some evening, weekend and bank holiday working is required on a rota basis.

• Zero hour contracts are available.

• ** Enhanced pay rates for weekends, evenings (10pm- 8am) and bank holidays up to double time.

• Generous mileage allowance of 45p per mile (up to first 10,000 miles and then 25p per mile).

• Up to 30 days’ annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays (pro rata) and subject to length of service.

• A car benefit scheme is available. This scheme can be accessed on completion of a probation period (6 months) and is subject to an assessment of the affordability to you.

• You will be given a mobile phone.

• You will be given two full uniforms.

• Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

• Professional career development.

• Excellent management support.

About you:
You don’t need social care qualifications to become a reablement support worker, but the right attitude and values are essential.
