We currently have an exciting opportunity for a number of part time roles based in our March services. The post will involve supporting adults with learning disabilities in keeping their lives independent and safe.

Our Fenland location has a respite (residential) and supported living service on site and staff are required to work flexibly, however you will be based in one service. This style of working provides a great opportunity for variety and career development.

Supported Living:
25 hour post
21 hour posts
18 hour fixed term posts

25 hour post

Cambridgeshire County Council is committed to providing high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities in their own homes. Our services are residential and supported living providing accommodation and support for adults with learning disabilities. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Support Workers will assist service users with all aspects of their care, with an emphasis on empowering them to develop and maintain their independence, skills and well-being. A good understanding of equal opportunities and a Person Centred approach with diversity are all essential.

Support Workers will be in regular contact with service users, families other professionals and partner agencies, therefore the role will require you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills including IT skills. You will also need to have a sensitive and professional approach showing understanding of confidentiality in and outside of the workplace.

The role will involve administration of medication and the provision of personal care. As part of your role your hours will include shift working, weekends and some Bank Holidays and sleep ins. You will also need to be flexible in working in all of the services that we have in March.

Starting salary for the role is £18,933 - £9.81 per hour. We pay enhancements for weekends which work out at £14.72 per hour on Saturday, £17.46 per hour for Sunday and £19.62 per hour for Bank Holiday’s.

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11th November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.
