An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Disabled Facilities Grant Surveyor to join Cambs HIA.

You will work across Cambridge City, South Cambs and Huntingdonshire carrying out on-site measured surveys, feasibility studies, producing schedule of works, designing and preparing Autocad drawings, liaising with contractors. Working alongside a small team of Surveyors and Caseworkers you will provide information and advice on all matters relating to identifying property defects, specifying remedial works, proposing technical solutions for improvements or adaptations, responding to changes in technical requirements or requests for alternative solutions.

The successful applicant should have a good knowledge of Building Regulations, preferably including Part M. You should be confident negotiating with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for our clients.

With knowledge and experience of using Autocad (or similar) to design home improvements, extensions and adaptations, you will demonstrate your ability to produce a high volume of drawings whilst balancing the needs of a vulnerable client base. You will have experience of project managing building works and contractors and of liaising and negotiating with a range of customers and professionals in a problem-solving capacity. In return we can give you access to a range of benefits including generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), a healthy learning and development programme and a health and wellbeing programme for all staff.
