North Northamptonshire Council are currently looking to recruit a Systems Support Assistant to join our busy Customer Advice Team within the Registration Service.

The Registration Service has the statutory duty in Northamptonshire to register life events such as births and deaths, and to take notices of marriage or civil partnership and to subsequently solemnise and register them.

The successful candidate will need to have an in-depth knowledge with Microsoft Office Packages such as Excel, Outlook and Word. You will also need to access and update our in-house systems on a daily basis to ensure sufficient cover is available to meet customer demand for this essential customer-facing service.

You must have good communication skills, be an adept problem solver who has experience of working under pressure.

The post will initially be based at One Angel Square but is subject to change following the completion of an accommodation review by North Northamptonshire Council.

The main responsibilities of the role are;
• Workforce planning for up to 30 members of staff which includes a variety of full time, part time and casual workers. The rota is provided up to 8 weeks in advance and can at times require you to resolve staffing issues at short notice.
• Ceremony sales management where you will oversee ceremony bookings to ensure all of the requirements are met such as payment being taken, and Notice of marriage has been completed by both parties.
• Appointment management which includes monitoring of available appointments to ensure statutory service agreements are met.
• Bespoke reporting to analyse trends in the service and also to monitor performance against statutory targets.
