Our Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS) Team is expanding, and we are currently seeking an individual to fulfil the role of a TECS Technician. The position is offered on a full time (37 hours) basis for 1 year fixed term. Your work base will be Amundsen House, St Ives, but the role will require daily travel throughout both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The salary offered will be at Grade 5 – SCP 12-17 - £22,571 - £24,920.

TECS is a pioneering social care service within the Prevention and Early Intervention Service. We work alongside colleagues from Sensory Services, Adult Early Help and Reablement to support people to maximise their independence and improve outcomes by preventing, reducing, or delaying the need for formal care, avoiding hospital admission, and supporting informal carers.

TECS provide a range of technological devices to support people and their carers with the challenges of everyday living. We can provide the most simplistic pill reminder, right through to the more sophisticated activity data monitoring systems and digital lifeline units with attached peripherals, such as bed sensors and door sensors. We are a lifeline provider, supporting people through use of a pendant alarm. The role of the TECS technician is to install equipment such as our lifeline units and peripherals, within people’s homes, upon completion of a thorough induction.

You will have a positive can-do attitude with excellent technical and problem-solving skills. You will be motivated, reliable, dependable, self-confident, and able to work autonomously. Above all, you will be committed to representing TECS. In joining the team, you will be part of a fast paced and extremely busy, dynamic social care service where your flair for finding creative solutions can thrive alongside supporting people to remain independent.

With regards to the culture of the workplace, we are an incredibly friendly team with very hard-working and dedicated staff who are always willing to help others where they can. Although your role will primarily consist of independent work and travel, you can rest assured that you will have the necessary support and guidance from your team members and the management team, should you need it. All TECS Technicians have regular training, supervisions and one to one sessions with their line manager.
