To contribute to the success of the Cambridgeshire sustainable economic growth by reducing dependency on the car for work and other journeys. To do this by working strategically with developers, employers in the Travel Plan Plus* area to promote and facilitate sustainable travel such as walking, cycling, car sharing, public transport, and reducing the need to travel (e.g. through video conferencing and flexible working). The TP+ area is located within the North East Cambridge Area Action Plan area and the post holder will be an influence and information resource for the areas integration to the proposals and development.
Determine the strategic development of the Travel Plan plus project to ensure it services the needs of stakeholders, businesses and commuters both now and in the future.

To manage the on-site operations, services, tools and events of the TP+ and residential projects.

Support and provide expert advice to businesses and residential developments on commuting and leisure travel (including facilitating workplace and residential travel plan development).

Continuously develop and improve the TP+ project and monitor performance and report on the effectiveness of the TP+ project ensuring that the work of TP+ is customer focussed and achieves success in assisting economic development by keeping the Travel Plan Plus area of Cambridgeshire moving.

Identify and realise all funding opportunities to ensure the TP+ project remains self-financing (including negotiating contributions from local planning applications and business/landlord financial contributions).

Act as area wide travel plan co-ordinator for residential sites such as Northstowe phase 1 and The Spires in St Ives – which includes residents, workplaces and
schools. Engage with Northstowe P1 on the Healthy Towns Agenda to encourage a healthy and active new community.

This role will be split the post holder’s time 50/50 between the TP+ area and residential travel planning.

This role is maternity cover until 31st August 2020.
