Hosting around 250 events each year, Cambridge City Council not only run the biggest venue in the city, but also the busiest.
We hold a range of events: from the latest bands to children’s theatre, from huge corporate events to graduation ceremonies, from classical concerts to raves, from weddings to conferences and from live comedy to indoor markets; not to mention everything in between!

Behind each of these events is a hard-working Venue Team who transform these versatile spaces overnight in preparation for the following days events to ensure that they’re delivered to the highest standards, creating lasting memories of great experiences for all our customers.
Supporting the Venue Supervisors, you’ll be part of the venue turnaround crew responsible for setting up seating plans, moving furniture, ensuring the venue is cleaned and tidied throughout and maintaining the standards of our beautiful, listed buildings.

Our ideal candidate will be proactive with a positive approach and will be willing to get stuck in to any task needed. Most of the work starts late in the evening and this job would particularly suit people looking specifically for evening and weekend work.

A ‘typical day’ would see you:
 Preparing the venue for the next event (e.g., removing the seating ready for a standing gig or setting up tables and chairs in preparation for a private dinner)
 Cleaning backstage and front of house area, including cleaning toilets and mopping floors whilst ensuring to uphold safety standards when working with chemicals
 Reporting maintenance issues and assisting with upkeeping the standards of our buildings

There’ll also be opportunities to work in other areas of the venue, including assisting the Front of House Team during events.
