About the team -
West Northamptonshire Council’s Waste team look after a diverse range of waste services including collecting resident's waste and recycling from the kerbside, providing household waste recycling centres, and making arrangements for the safe treatment, recycling and disposal of all materials collected. The waste team also manages a number of closed landfill sites and is responsible for street cleansing throughout the area.


About the role -
The Waste Strategy and Delivery Manager will lead the development of a new waste strategy for West Northamptonshire Council, which is a new unitary authority established in April 2021. The strategy will set the vision for the future waste services provided by the Council. These services include waste collection, waste disposal, household waste recycling centres, etc. Once the strategy is developed the postholder will lead its step by step implementation, which may include procurement of new contracts, development of new facilities, etc. This a key role and an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of essential services from ‘the beginning’.


About you-
You’ll need experience of effective project management, analysing and solving complex process and systems problems and Ability to travel to different locations. You'll be self-motivated and able to communicate clearly with a wide range of people. You will enjoy working independently and with the support of an experienced and friendly team.


Interviews are expected to take place 16th August in Northampton.
