Advert for Support Worker
Cambridgeshire County Council has been offering support services to adults with learning difficulties for many years. Our services are based in Ely and we offer round-the-clock support and care to adults with a variety of different abilities. We offer support within our supported living accommodation.
We provide highly trained and motivated staff who empower and facilitate the service users’ independence. By recognising the unique nature of each individual’s needs, we help to draw up a care plan that delivers multi-level support tailored to each service user.
Services include help with finance and budgeting, healthcare appointments, personal care, household tasks, socialising in the community, healthy eating and diet – all of which are delivered at the point of need, in the home of the service user.
We are recruiting for support workers who share our passion for excellent social care and wish to join a friendly, hardworking and experienced team.
We ask that you are flexible and willing to work across our services. As a Support Worker you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. To have a sensitive and a professional approach in managing work load and a good understanding of equal opportunities, person centred approach, diversity and safe guarding.
The role will involve some lone-working, administration of medication, and the provision of personal care to the service users. Hours will include shift working, weekends, and some Bank Holidays.
In return we offer appropriate training, support, and career development opportunities as well as being part of a supportive team committed to delivering an excellent service for adults with learning disabilities in the Ely area.
This position will require an Enhanced DBS check.
