Children’s Services at Northamptonshire are in an exciting period of significant transformation; we can confirm that we will become a standalone Trust which will deliver services for two new unitary authorities across the county. We are currently recruiting energetic and passionate social workers to lead and develop high quality services.

There are 14 safeguarding teams, across Northamptonshire with flexible working arrangements supported across the county. Each team consists of 5 or 6 x Social Workers & 1 x Newly Qualified Social Worker, average case load of 18. The exciting new operating model will enable the safeguarding teams to really focus on creative problem solving and keeping children and families together.

Signs of safety strengths based approaches, led by our principal social worker, supports excellent social work practice and is further supported by our dedicated and experienced consultant social workers and business support. Training is readily available. The work includes children in need, child protection; PLO and care proceedings until the granting of an Interim Care Order or S.20 four month review. A dedicated case progression manager and officer will support legal proceedings and strong links with targeted support and early help will enable smooth step-down processes.

Our new integrated adolescent service, which is going live 1 October, will be a valuable resource to support the service. There is also wide range of practice developments taking place including supporting multi-agency practice in completing pre-birth and parenting assessments. Our skilled and motivated safeguarding service looks forward to you joining us on a journey of continued improvement and development.

You will need:
• HCPC Registration with 18 months minimum post qualification Social Work
• Previous experience within Children Safeguarding
• Enhanced DBS Clearance
• The right to work in the UK

As part of our drive to support and enable our staff we offer successful candidates the opportunity to undertake the 2 day and 5 day Signs Of Safety training within their first year of employment with us

This position is full time and based at our offices at One Angel Square.
